I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and very clean, providing great comfort throughout my visit. The best part was the amazing dining experience we had, especially the crab and prime rib buffet. However, the location was a bit further from downtown than I expected, and the breakfast options could use some improvement.

The service was excellent, especially in the dining area where the waitstaff was accommodating and attentive.

My stay at this hotel was pretty good overall. The room was clean and quite modern, which I really appreciated. The location was a bit out of the way for downtown activities, but still manageable. The dining experience left a bit to be desired, especially since the buffet setup wasn't ideal. However, I did enjoy the warm and inviting atmosphere of the casino area, even if it had its ups and downs with staff interactions.

Rooms
9.0
The room I stayed in was great-clean and equipped with modern amenities like a mini fridge and a comfortable recliner. It was spacious and had a nice western decor that I found appealing.
Service
7.0
While most staff were friendly, I did encounter a couple of casino dealers who were not as engaging. However, the shuttle drivers were a standout, always approachable and helpful.
Location
6.0
It's a decent location, but a bit of a trek to downtown entertainment, which might not be ideal for everyone. It's about a 10-minute walk to main activities in Deadwood.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was less than stellar, particularly the buffet which was held in the basement-a rather dull setting with limited choices that didn't feel worth the price.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities included a large casino with plenty of gaming options, which I enjoyed, but it could definitely use some updates in certain areas.

I had a wonderful time at this hotel while enjoying a short getaway in Deadwood! The room was clean and comfortable, which made our stay very enjoyable. The complimentary dining options were nice, but I felt the food prices could be a bit high. Overall, it was a good value for the price we paid, especially considering the amenities offered.

Rooms
8.0
The room was clean and comfortable, featuring a spacious layout with modern amenities. However, I think the pricing should reflect the room quality, as I wouldn't have expected to pay close to $300 for the same accommodations.
Service
7.0
The service was generally friendly and accommodating, especially at check-in when the staff helped us with parking and informed us about the weather. However, I did have a slight hiccup where some staff member wasn't very nice during my gaming session.
Location
7.0
While the hotel was a bit of a walk from the main attractions downtown, I appreciated that there was a trolley connecting to the central area, making it convenient to explore.
Dining
6.0
The on-site restaurant offered decent meals, but I found some of the menu prices a bit high for what was served. Still, it made it easy for us to grab meals without leaving the hotel, which was a plus!
Facilities
7.0
I found the facilities satisfactory, with a nice atmosphere overall. However, I think there could be improvements in areas like the dining experience where the breakfast buffet could use a refresh.

We had an amazing stay at First Hold Hotel and Gaming in Deadwood! The room felt like a cozy one-bedroom apartment, and it was very clean and well-equipped. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was great, especially the buffet options. However, the decor felt a bit dated, but that didn't take away from our overall experience.

I had a great stay at the Travelodge Inn & Suites. The room was spacious and clean, and I loved the comfortable king bed and convenience of having a microwave and fridge. The location was a bonus, as it was easy to walk to historic downtown Deadwood. However, I did have a frustrating experience with unexpected charges after my stay that left a sour taste, despite everything else being enjoyable.
